SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 2023

As a new group of Future Leaders heads out into the world, we’re taking time to learn about what’s next on their plate. These student graduates are an impressive group, so take a seat at the table and get to know them better inside and outside of the kitchen. We’ll introduce you to graduates who are ready to set their plans for after high school in motion and you can learn about their interests, goals, and dreams for the future.

Gio Benard

“Take everything you learn seriously because FC will teach you many skills.”

Kendra Preval

“Future Chefs is a safe space with other peers and there are so many opportunities you can gain from it.”

Thierry Elician

“Future Chefs has impacted my life by helping me gain more confidence in myself.”

CJ Lawson

“I’m taking initiative, if something happens in the kitchen, you don’t blame it on someone else. You take accountability for it, and I’m trying to use this in my life outside of FC.”

Vincent Huynh

“FC is a very welcoming community where you are able to feel safe and be yourself.”

Xavier Craigwell

“I’ve definitely taken away so much, like how to make things differently, new languages, and essential skills.”

Annika Swift

“Future Chefs is a space where you come to cook, but you also come to learn. It's a very positive space and one that can be very transformative.”

Alondra Ocasio-Torres

“Future Chefs is very community-based oriented, and everyone in the program cares about you.”

Anthony Jackson

“I want to pursue culinary and my long-term goal is to have one or multiple businesses tied to my interests.

Jeremy Fretts

“Future Chefs helps builds your character, helps you cook, and it's a great community. You feel accepted and you feel at home.”

Shanell Lewis-Johnson

“For me personally, FC was a life-changing experience. I don’t think I would be where I am today if I hadn’t done this program.”
